LAUSD-KLCS and PBS SoCal Partnership: At Home Learning

KLCS is LAUSD

Did you know that our local PBS channel KLCS-Los Angeles (Channel 58) is actually owned and operated by LAUSD?

Yes, KLCS is owned by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), it is one of eight television stations in the U.S. that are operated by a local school system. KLCS' studios are located at the Downtown Magnets High School on West Temple Street in downtown Los Angeles, and its transmitter is located atop Mount Wilson.

Due to the current school closures facing LAUSD and surrounding districts in Southern California, LAUSD is working with our PBS TV Station KLCS to change programming to meet the needs of our students who are at home in need of additional learning opportunities.

In addition to the KLCS Programming change, a new partnership with ALL Southern California PBS stations is being put into place to support additional learning at various age groups.  Please watch the video below for additional information and read below for details on programming across PBS stations.
